Christ University

Christ University was established in July 1969 as Christ College under Bangalore University. The University Grants Commission (UGC) conferred Autonomy to Christ College in October, 2004. It became the first College in South India to be reaccredited with A+ by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in May 2005. The UGC had identified Christ College as an Institution with Potential for Excellence in June 2006.

On July 2008, the Government of India declared Christ College as a Deemed to be University, in the name and style of Christ University. The University is rooted in Gospel values, and committed to provide holistic education through the development of intellectual competence, personal skills, inter-personal skills and societal skills. The University welcomes to its fold students from all over the country in an environment of religious harmony and secularism.
